Lower Blood Pressure Naturally

One in four Americans has high blood pressure or hypertension, which, if left untreated, can increase the risk of stroke and heart disease.  Rather than looking for herbal hypertension products, one can lower blood pressure naturally through diet.  Traditionally, people with high blood pressure have been advised to follow a low-salt diet.  However, recent research indicates a diet high in potassium, calcium, magnesium and dietary fiber can help lower blood pressure naturally.1

Hypertension Diet

A good hypertension diet should include potassium because it helps prevent and lower blood pressure. Potassium rich foods are now being reccomended by physicians as a diet for people with high blood pressure.  Some foods high in potassium are various fruits, vegetables, dairy foods, and fish.  For help planning a hypertension diet please use our list of potassium rich foods.

Calcium and Magnesium

Calcium and magnesium on their own have not been consistently shown to prevent or lower high blood pressure, but are important nutrients for overall good health.  Here is a list of magnesium rich foods and to find how much calcium you need to maintain good health and to see how much calcium you are getting from your diet, please use our calcium calculator

If you are not maintaining the recommended calcium and magnesium in your diet you may need supplementation. To learn more about AlgaeCal supplement please click here
