An Adventurous Blueberry Picking Experience

Ahhh, it’s the season of BLUEBERRIES!

This week, AlgaeCal’s SEO guru, Vanessa, went on an adventure for some “U-Pick Blueberries.” Vanessa’s family friend owns a small organic blueberry farm in Pitt Meadows, BC, so she made the trek out there and was not disappointed!

Because of this year’s intense summer rays, the blueberries have doubled in size compared to the last few years! Crazy! This also means they are much sweeter and tastier, too.

Vanessa said she probably ate just as many blueberries as she brought home – and she brought home about 25 pounds worth! I think she’ll start turning blue soon.

Have you ever tried picking your own blueberries?

Here are some blueberry nutrition facts:
Blueberries are a good source of Vitamin K (and you can get about 31% of your daily value by eating just one cup of blueberries). Also, blueberries boast antioxidants, which are essential for optimal health. [1] With blueberries being in season, eat as many as you can get your hands on – we know Vanessa will!
