How the Older Generation Can Ruin Facebook For All The Youngsters In the Family!

I am sure that your friends or family members are all talking about Facebook.  If you are like me, then it is likely that your kids are addicted to this Facebook, constantly sending messages to each other and basically living via Facebook.  My nephew even gets text messaged on his cell phone every time he gets a message in Facebook. He is only 12 years old?

If you did not know, Facebook.com is the new big social networking site that is pretty much replacing myspace.com (used to be the number one social networking community site)  Facebook connects people with current and old friends, work colleagues, school mates and basically anyone that you have ever met in your life.  People use Facebook to keep up with friends, upload photos, share videos, and pretty much hang out and communicate through the web site.

Well, just to see if there are any AlgaeCal customers that use Facebook we set up an account for AlgaeCal and started an AlgaeCal group.  So I urge anyone that is tired of hearing about Facebook from friends and family to sign up and create our own community because we can have a little fun at our loved one's expense.

Time to Get Revenge on Our Facebook Addicted Friends and Family

1. Sign Up

First go to Facebook.com and create an account, it is easy.  Just fill in your name, email address (make sure to use the same email address that your family members would have), and birthday.  You will then have to confirm your email address by clicking on a link within an email that Facebook will send you.  And voila, you are an official member of Facebook.

2. Network

Now they will ask you for your email address and password.  Don't be alarmed as this is comletely safe, Facebook only needs it to search through your contacts within your email account.  This is how you begin to connect with your friends and family members that are using Facebook too.  Facebook will now list all of your contacts that are Facebook users, you will have the option to send them friend requests or messages etc...hopefully you have a lot of the young family members that we want to have some fun with by infiltrating their sacred online hang out.

3. Join A Group

Now to give us a little bit of recognition we should all join our community so that it looks as though we are Facebook experts and that we have loads of friends.  plus this will also make our young friends uneasy that they hang on the same site as us old fogies.

Click on the "groups" button in the top left column.  Search for Algaecal and then join our group, this will be our community where us old folks can hang out and share information, send messages etc...

4. Time To Hassle

To have some fun start sending messages and friend requests to all of the young family members that are Facebook users and contacts from your email account. This will no doubt freak them out, when I did this I really got a very good rection from my kids and nephews.  They did not want to be seen networking with their uncool parents.  Have some fun, I am sure that you will get some good ideas and start searching for family members and friends.  You will be surprised at how quickly your network grows.  You might even enjoy it.

But more importantly you will at least disturbed the sacred world of Facebook!
